Jenny Macklin launches Pensioners and Seniors Kit

16 July 2008

Jenny Macklin MP, Federal Member for Jagajaga, today launched her new Pensioners and Seniors Kit while visiting seniors at Leith Park Retirement Village in St. Helena.

‘This Kit has a lot of useful information for seniors and pensioners’, Ms Macklin said.

‘For example, in it they will find information about pension rates, eligibility for concession cards, and any other allowances or benefits for which they may be eligible,

‘This guide will make it easier for seniors and pensioners to access the correct Centrelink payments and services.

‘The pension rate tables are particularly useful when determining correct pension rates.’

Leith Park resident Beverley Brown said she found the Kit to be an invaluable resource for older people in the local community.

‘This Kit is set out in plain language, not jargon, and it really clarifies the payments, concessions and benefits that elderly people are entitled to’, Ms. Brown said.

Jenny Macklin strongly encouraged local pensioners and seniors to request a kit by calling her office on 9459 1411 or by dropping in to her Electorate Office at 149 Burgundy St, Heidelberg.
