PM's Youth Blog asks: `What would you do as PM for a day'?
15 September 2009
Jenny Macklin MP has invited young people from across our local community to get involved in a new online conversation with the Prime Minister via his new youth blog.
The Prime Minister’s youth blog opened on Friday 11 September at www.pm.gov.au.
Ms Macklin said that this was an exciting new opportunity for young people across the local community to put their views directly to the Prime Minister.
“The focus of the Prime Minister’s blog will be on youth and the issues that specifically affect them,”
“The blog asks young people to imagine that they were Prime Minister for a day, and asks what they would do to help young people across a variety of critical topics,”
"This is a great way to tap into our local youth’s endless creativity and imagination while at the same time drawing on the issues that matter most to them – when at home, at school, at work, online and out in the community,”
“Local youth can simply log onto www.pm.gov.au and navigate to the PM Connect section on the homepage, where they can subscribe to the blog and join this new national conversation designed just for them.” Ms Macklin said.
Ideas received through the Prime Minister’s blog will build on the conversation the Government is already having with young people through the Australian Youth Forum.
